2nd Career

DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

I mentioned in one of my earlier blogs about perhaps going to university …

Well, I found out that if you are under 60 years of age and you never went to university, you can actually apply to go to university and get your fees paid.  You will have to pay the student loan back when you start a job and the minimum payment is seven pounds a month if you are earning about twenty one pounds per annum.  And when you start working and you are earning a good enough salary, your pay back monthly amount will be between 40-50 pounds a month.  So all in all it is worth your while.

You will also be entitled to get a maintenance grant each year for your course from the government, this is in UK only.

You might be thinking three years!  But time goes by fast and if this is something that you really want to do, then you have to go for it.  Before you know it, you will have a university qualification in the career that you also wanted to do.

So, if you want to get into a different career path, for example get a job in the NHS or social work or hospitality or marketing, become an interpreter etc… then do your research about financial help that is available.

Some universities will let you know that they have scholarships to help their students or other forms of grants by bank corporations etc…  What is most important is DO YOUR RESEARCH.

I found out that there are courses available that you can do and the fees will be paid in full. But do a lot of online research and call to speak to admissions offices of the universities or colleges that you want to enrol at.

There is talk that the government might help pay for a post-graduated course but there is nothing definite about this yet.

If you keep on doing what you are doing, you will keep on getting what you are getting, do something different and change the cause of your life.
